My post entails undertaking a fairly broad spectrum of short-term research projects. Recent work has included analysing the population trends of estuarine birds, reviewing the impacts of introduced waterbirds on native biodiversity in Europe, Africa and the Middle East and reviewing the methods used in ornithological assessments for offshore windfarms. I have also worked on analysing mammal population trends using data from the Breeding Bird Survey (in which volunteers also record mammal sightings).
