The BTO receives financial support from a range of businesses, trusts and other agencies, but it is our members and supporters who have the biggest impact, through generous responses to appeals, membership subscriptions and regular donations. These are vital for our core work.

The help received from our supporters has made the following appeals real successes. The following links show how you have made a real difference:

• Save Our Skylarks focused attention on the plight of farmland birds
• The Nightingale Appeal shifted the focus to woodlands
• The Owl Appeal funded some major research into Tawny Owls and promoted Barn Owl monitoring.
• BTO Resource Centre, Max Nicholson Building and Chris Mead Library has successfully housed the ever expanding BTO archive, Library, and Terrestrial Ecology Unit
• The Blackbird Initiative has given BTO researchers access to our rich archive of historical data on this popular but declining species
