Instructions for using BBS-Online

The instructions for using BBS-Online are split into two sections, described below, which relate to the level of involvement in the scheme (just like in the paper based version). Everyone should be familiar with the survey methods used and how to fill in the appropriate field forms (view general BBS Instructions), as BBS-Online data entry has been designed to be as similar as possible to the field forms.

  1. Everyone (BBS observers and Regional Organisers alike)
  2. Regional Organisers only

Click on the 'Everyone' link to see how to use the general features of BBS-Online, such as entering your bird, mammal and habitat data, how to view these and historic data (with summaries) and also how to make corrections to the current years data.

Click on the 'Regional Organisers' link to see how to access the extra management and data summary facilities available to volunteers who organise the BBS within the various BTO regions. Note these actual help page are part of the web application, and will only be available to participating Regional Organisers.
