Help with Postcodes

You can use a postcode to tell us the location of your site if it is within Britain and Northern Ireland. There are no postcodes in the Republic of Ireland.

The BirdTrack computer will translate your postcode to a 1 km square grid reference. For large sites you should ideally use a postcode that is fairly close to the centre of the site but you can use the postcode for any property within the site if necessary.

You can search for postcodes on the Royal mail website

http://www.royalmail.co.uk/

The following postcode formats are permitted, where A represents a capital letter and n representes a single numeric digit. If your postcode doesn't follow one of these formats then it is incorrect or incomplete.

An nAA Single letter and single number, followed by one number and two letters
AAn nAA Two letters and a single number, followed by one number and two letters
Ann nAA Single letters and two numbers, followed by one number and two letters
AAnn nAA Two letters and two numbers, followed by one number and two letters
