Dr Phil Atkinson
Position
Research Manager
Role
Research into farmland bird populations, shorebird ecology and providing a link between the terrestrial and wetland units at BTO.
Qualifications
BSc (Hons) Ecology, University of East Anglia, 1988-2001
PhD The wintering ecology of Twite Carduelis flavirostris and the consequences of sea level rise, University of East Anglia, 1975-1978
Research Interests/Responsibilities
The impact of shell-fishing on bird populations, understanding the demographic implications of environmental change on shorebird populations, the application of stable isotopes in studying shorebird migration systems, understanding the issues concerning the creation and restoration of coastal wetland habitats and the impact of modern farming techniques on bird populations.
