Causes of nest failure in ground-nesting birds

This ongoing research uses state-of-the-art remote video cameras to record activity at Woodlark and Nightjar nests. Intensive nest finding during 2008 and 2009 has yielded over 120 Woodlark nests and over 20 Nightjar nests, each of which has been monitored using cameras amassing a huge library of footage of nests. The clips below show a Woodlark feeding young and day and night footage of Nightjars at the nest. This work is undertaken in collaboration with the University of East Anglia and additionally includes radio-tracking of foraging Nightjars.
